From our interns

“The highlight of my experience at ARS was the one-on-one time with leadership. I’ve completed a variety of internships, and ARS was the only one where senior leadership taught me skills from the ground up, from technical Excel skills to broader professional development. I genuinely felt that the team was invested in my growth, not just what I could contribute to the firm. I worked on real consulting engagements involving reinsurance accounting, solvency capital modeling, pet insurance research, and OPEB modeling. These experiences gave me practical knowledge I hadn’t gained through school or actuarial exams, and much of what I learned continues to benefit me in my current role. Every assignment had a clear purpose and impact. The work was interesting, tailored to my development, and never felt like busy work. I would definitely recommend the ARS internship to recent graduates beginning their actuarial careers.”

“Working with real pet insurance claims data helped me connect actuarial concepts with practical challenges, from analyzing claim frequency and severity to questioning assumptions and communicating findings. The combination of hands-on responsibility and regular mentorship from an experienced senior actuary built my confidence and broadened my skills. I would happily recommend the program to graduates seeking practical experience and thoughtful mentorship.”
